  • More than just cannibalism

Just adore this pod, sounds like it’s super niche and there wouldn’t be enough content but trust me that is not the case!! So much more than just survival cannibalism… historical stories presented in an entertaining and informative way. Who knew doomed Antarctic exploration would have so many laughs.

Really hoping these ladies come back for more episodes in the future.

  • Love this podcast

This might sound like a particularly niche podcast subject, but each episode is a completely fascinating, informative story of survival cannibalism, told with compassion and a good bit of humour. Genuinely get excited every time theres a new episode out

  • My new favorite!

The dry humor, the quality of research, the storytelling and of course - the cannibalism!!! Please don’t stop! Think you could do an episode on the archeological evidence of human self-extinction on Easter Island?

  • LOVE This

I actually started listening to this podcast because I am connected to a survivor of one of these episodes professionally and wanted to hear more about their experience. Needless to say after the one episode I was hooked! Binged this in just a few days. Keep it up ladies!

  • Come on, be honest with me, we all enjoy a bit of cannibalism. That strange, morbid curiosity with the taboo of eating human flesh. Could you eat someone if your survival depended on it? Or sacrifice yourself, give up your bodily flesh to help others? Throughout history tragedy and unfortunate events have led countless people to contemplate these very questions. So often those put in this most difficult of position hold on as long as they can – it’s the last resort, the final act of desperation.... more

  • I'm much more versed in mortuary cannibalism so I've learned quite a bit from this podcast! I'm glad they don't focus on the same old serial killer cannibalism stories, and they are quite funny which makes the facts even more memorable. I look forward to future episodes!

  • Brilliant!!!

my current favourite podcast - covers topics that, to be fair, i’m already interested in, but the meticulous research and the delight that alix and carmella take in telling these grisly tales makes casting lots a joy to listen to

  • These episodes are my favorite

I love listening to this niche topic and this is definitely the best show of them all. I listen to them in bed at night and often find myself too intrigued to fall asleep. This is a great show and I would absolutely love to hear more from these guys!

  • These Ladies Are My Kinda People

After the podcast “Death in the Afternoon” ceased uploading in 2019, I didn’t know how much I had missed the quirky tales of weird deaths and how different people deal with them until I found this pod.

These talented ladies are real, funny, give great context, and tell the tales with their delightful banter with the respect and awe these events deserve. Breaking the cannibalism down to land, ice, and sea is a refreshing setup.

These ladies have kept me sane through the lockdown so if you wan... more
