  • I don’t want to listen to the guests get interrupted for over an hour.

This was such a disappointment. I was so excited to listen to Sharon Eubank, and yet every time she got more than two sentences out Casey would plow over her with his own opinions and stories. It was such a huge let down, because she has SO MUCH wisdom! The only reason I kept listening was because I hoped he’d eventually shut up and we’d get to hear her speak, but he was borderline man-splaning her own life and experiences back to her. So, so disappointing.

  • Can’t finish the episode

This is my first time listening. I tuned in for a particular guest. I can’t finish the episode because Casey constantly interrupts and interjects his own stories. The “ya, ya” is super annoying.

  • Great Guests, Good Questions

I love that Casey has such incredible guests and how he will go deeper and ask follow up questions. I do agree with the review that says he sometimes could slow down, let the person add to what they are saying, and doesn’t always need to add his own story to validate what the guest shared. Just a pause and a thank you or a follow up, not always needing to relate it back to himself or someone he knows. That being said, the insights he connects and how he illustrates the principles is incredible, ... more

Chris Crittenden: Highlight Episode
Q: How did Sandbox go from a BYU program to a scalable, multi-university initiative?
By identifying the need to scale beyond a single campus, forming strategic partnerships with other universities (e.g., UVU, Utah State, Utah Tech, Louisville), and adopting a for-profit model to secure top talent and sustainable funding, the program expanded while preserving its core mission of learning by doing and creating real companies.
Taylor Randall: Highlight Episode
Q: So talk to me about being president.
Randall describes the presidency as leading a vast, multifaceted enterprise where technology, funding models, and culture must be retooled to address core headwinds: tech-driven change, escalating education costs, polarization, and student mental health. He emphasizes engaging faculty, staff, and students in solving these problems and the need to create experiences that complement classroom learning.
Mark Durham: Revitalizing Cities, Building Businesses, and a Life of Quiet Persistence
Q: How did you balance growth with giving back, especially as City Strong and My Hometown scaled?
By creating structured programs (community centers, immigration support, and neighborhood services) and recruiting partners across faiths and sectors to sustain impact beyond the core team.
Mark Durham: Revitalizing Cities, Building Businesses, and a Life of Quiet Persistence
Q: What catalyzed your decision to sell your first business and pursue a mission-driven path?
He felt a calling to do something beyond profit and found greater clarity in focusing on impact, how people are treated, and building a lasting, positive environment for others.
James Clarke: Highlight Episode
Q: What would you tell your 21-year-old self about investing vs. operating?
Stay in the game, be selective, and don't chase every deal; understand you are evaluating both people and opportunities, and don't compromise on core values or trust.
