I know the Angels have terrible over the last decade but the constant bashing of this team and belittling any minor bright spot is beyond frustrating. Sam is a fantastic sports journalist but this podcast doesn’t feel overall objective, it feels like a frustrated reporter and a Giants fan constantly laughing at the Angels dismay. I appreciate candid discussions, but this just feels negative no matter what happens.
Sam Blum is a phenomenal feature writer - but he is abysmal covering a team day to day. The Angels are a punching bag (and for the most part it’s earned) but Sam is unwilling to look past Arte Moreno with anything Angels related.
Steer clear of this one and listen to Locked on Angels instead. They’re much more balanced (and actually up to date on what the team is doing).
We are now almost two years into this podcast, and Sam continues to ask the right questions.
But how in the name of Angels does the lead host have worse sound quality than his co-host?? Sam it’s embarrassing, and it makes me avoid the podcast knowing that you’re just going to sound like a guy talking on a Zoom call to Conor. Invest in some audio equipment. It’s been two years.
Can’t speak for any other Halos fans but the recent signings don’t make me excited. Arte will never hit the reset button. Arte still trying to thread a needle. Will it succeed? I’ll believe it when I see it, but I’m not holding my breath…
Any Halos fans whining about the Dodgers don’t know what the problem really is.
ARTE. Dodgers ownership is running circles around him. He reminds of Donald Sterling in that money isn’t the issue. It’s that if he sells the team no one will ever spend a... more
Love hearing the pod but I’m not sure how many more future episodes can be recorded considering how in the doldrums this franchise is. There’s no apparent plan. How much is there to say about a directionless franchise?
