The Process Improvement Mistakes That Analysts Make
Q: How do you handle executives who see a problem that others don't think exists?
Lead them through pre-conversations to understand why they think it's a problem, then gather corroborating data and perspectives from others to align the view before moving to action.
Making Data Impossible to Ignore
Q: What is the role of AI in storytelling?
AI handles data readiness and calculations, but human context and storytelling are essential to connect emotionally and drive decisions.
Making Data Impossible to Ignore
Q: What happens when data tells a not-so-happy story?
Maintain credibility by avoiding fabrication; prepare with honesty, present possible actions, and align with allies to present a united front when delivering tough messages.
Making Data Impossible to Ignore
Q: How do you adapt a data story for non-technical stakeholders versus technical teams?
Identify the metric each audience cares about, tailor the content to those drivers, and translate complex model details into actionable implications that align with their responsibilities.
Turning Strategy Into Results
Q: How do analysts build resilience in their careers by doubling down on skills AI cannot replicate?
Resilience comes from embracing failure as a learning mechanism, developing skills like stakeholder trust and contextual judgment, and continuously practicing open, courageous conversations; it's less about stacking skills and more about how you respond to setbacks and adapt.
