As the host of a younger board game podcast, I really appreciate Mark’s experience with decades of games and gaming experiences. We definitely don’t 100% align on our game tastes but I find myself consistently drifting towards his tastes as I get more experience myself. Mark is an elder statesman in board games and a genuinely beautiful human being. I’m proud to call him a friend and, in a way, a mentor. Looking forward to the next 20 years, Mark!
Board games To Go remains a bench mark in podcasting, let alone board game podcasting.
Podcasting since 2005, Mark and his guests can speak with a sense of perspective on the hobby, a refreshing change from the many podcasts that focus so much on more recent games. Mark is a gentle host and his interviews often feel like a nice chat between friends.
Always a good listen but wish it was more regular!
I like the fact that Mark keeps this podcast simple, straightforward, and consistent. It's like an audio blog since he doesn't try to do anything more special than give his personal thoughts on games he's played and cons he's attended. I feel like I have a better sense of his tastes than most other reviewers, so I know what I'll think of a game based on his opinion of it.
