  • Too late

Not sure why this is called “Daybreak” as the episodes are only available at 10 am in HK/Singapore. I quite like the show but the timing doesn’t work for me.

  • Not about Asia

I don't understand why this show is called such, but the topics have nothing to do with Asia. Better listen to the other Bloomberg shows, this is redundant and misleading.

Stocks Affected By Hot US Inflation Data, Trump Heads to China
Q: What is the near-term path for US monetary policy according to the hosts?
The hosts suggest a shift from expecting two rate cuts to pricing in potential rate hikes, with a sense that policy may remain data-dependent and possibly more hawkish than earlier anticipated.
Stocks Shrug Off Iran War, Australia Budget Preview
Q: Do you see a point where this prompts inflation, and what might that mean for fixed income in these markets?
Inflation could be an outcome of supply and demand imbalances driven by the AI and tech-led investment cycle, which could push bond yields higher; however, the trajectory will depend on central bank policy responses and the pace of demand growth across regions.
Stocks Shrug Off Iran War, Australia Budget Preview
Q: So, you believe in this AI build-down specifically for North Asia. There's this whole debate about whether this is structural or is this a trade? Where are you on that argument?
We are confident the AI/tech investment trend is structural and broader than initial beneficiaries, with second-round effects likely to sustain growth and influence inflation dynamics over the longer term.
Brent Holds Gain as Iran Tensions Flare Up Again
Q: Kyle, what happens when the narrative shifts towards a hawkish bias from central banks, even when it comes to the Federal Reserve, with markets pricing in a higher likelihood of a rate hike next year?
A shift to a hawkish stance could weigh on risk assets and potentially re-rate equities, especially cyclicals, while supporting the dollar and pressuring bond yields; the episode emphasizes the fragility of the current support from strong earnings.
Brent Holds Gain as Iran Tensions Flare Up Again
Q: Given of course where we're at, does this surprise you that we're not seeing bigger moves especially in the equity space when you have the 10-year yield pass 4.40, you have oil pass $100 a barrel?
Kyle argues that the strong US earnings narrative has kept markets contained in the near term, and that downside surprises would need to be amplified by shifts in policy or geopolitical risk to trigger larger moves.
