  • Well Done!

Enjoyed a Bob Kendrick marathon while stuck in traffic today. His enthusiasm is infectious, and his knowledge and sweet memories are wonderful. And he’s not afraid to raise tough, uncomfortable issues, like how integration doomed the Negro Leagues, and to some extent the communities that depended on the local franchises. This is colorful history with cogent analysis and humor.

Learning about Ernie Banks playing with the Globetrotters and Satchel Paige telling a young Willie Mays that three fastballs are coming (and he didn’t touch any of them) are details worth so much more than home runs and RBIs. Thank you Bob Ken... more
