  • I can’t wait until these buffoons insist the Patterson film is still genuine.

A peek into the nature of belief hosted by two devoted proponents of Bigfoot. Interesting from a sociological perspective but a fertile source for severe problem thinking on a wide variety of sciences. A triumph of ignorance.

  • Fantastic! 🫈

The editing of this podcast is outstanding! I love that there’s prompts telling the listener that there’s gonna be a commercial break, unlike some podcasts who cut the commercial in mid of sentence.

    I love the Intriguing conversations.

  • Still haven’t found Bigfoot.

Two clowns from the TV show Finding Bigfoot continue to fail to find Bigfoot. With this podcast they repeatedly try to sell the listener on folklore as reality with an avalanche of specious data. Amusing for its ridiculous premise it’s a fun if often painful listen. Chock full of preposterous claims.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 367 - Q&A - May, 2026
Q: Were there times on Finding Bigfoot where you really did hear something but the microphones didn't pick it up, so editors added sounds?
They would sometimes add dramatic sounds or music to heighten tension, but the hosts suggest they generally relied on their own recordings and transcription of events, and they emphasize that they did not knowingly lie about what they heard; if they claimed hearing something, they believed it.
Ep. 364 - Q&A - April, 2026
Q: What is your take on Sasquatch activity in the White Mountain region of New Hampshire, and do you have data to share about that area?
We discuss the area's habitat suitability, corroborating eyewitness reports, and note that while there are unpublished records and ongoing interest, the volume of verifiable data varies by region. The takeaway is that New Hampshire, particularly pockets near White Mountains, has viable habitat and credible witness accounts worth exploring further, but concrete, widely published data remains limited.
Ep. 363 - Lyle Blackburn's Terrifying Encounters!
Q: What inspired you to pursue a retro format for your Terrifying Encounters book, and how did that shape the storytelling?
The retro pocket paperback size and the nostalgic look were chosen to make the material feel timeless and accessible, while allowing room for new and credible encounters that didn't fit previous formats; the storytelling mirrors classic cryptid books to engage both longtime fans and new readers.
Ep. 356 - Chris Spencer Returns!
Q: What are your two main recording strategies and how do they differ in practice?
The two main strategies are camping with handheld and camp-recorders close to the action, and long-duration recorders placed at key locations to capture sounds over longer periods, often from dusk till dawn, to maximize chances of capturing vocalizations and other signals.
Ep. 357 - Finding Bigfoot Producer Sean Mantooth!
Q: What was the scariest thing that had happened to you on the show?
Sean recalls high-adrenaline moments like chopper stunts under railroad bridges and a chaotic river ride, but emphasizes that the most unsettling aspects often came from the uncertainty and the rough conditions rather than obvious threats.
