Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Andres Vereecke: Belgian Roots, Family Bonds, and the Business of Showjumping
Q: Can you explain how your journey with horses started?
Andres explains he grew up in a family deeply involved with horses, with his father and grandparents breeding and riding, which made riding feel almost destined for him. He later sought learning abroad to broaden his perspective and improve every aspect of riding and running a stable.
Lara Tryba: Bloodlines, Belief, and the Long Game
Q: What was your Shanghai experience like, and how did it influence your outlook on competition?
Shanghai was a huge goal for the year, and although I broke my shoulder shortly before, I managed to compete, felt the arena's quality, and it reinforced the importance of perseverance and careful preparation.
Lara Tryba: Bloodlines, Belief, and the Long Game
Q: How has growing up in a family breeding operation shaped your approach to sport?
Growing up around breeding and bloodlines gave me a special eye for bloodlines and stallion selection, and it taught me to be patient and consider how a horse's lineage translates to performance.
Lara Tryba: Bloodlines, Belief, and the Long Game
Q: What drew you to pursue riding full-time after balancing studies and riding on the youth circuit?
I wanted to keep a backup plan, but I also wanted to give 100% to horses when the moment felt right, which led me to move to Belgium and join Marlon Zanotelli's setup under the Ashford Training Program.
Jules Orsolini: French Showjumping Excellence with a Vision Beyond the Saddle
Q: What will you focus on after Young Riders?
I'm looking to potentially step up to five-star classes after building consistency in three-star competitions.
