One down, one to go. In the penultimate installment of the show, host Craig does one final round of housekeeping and (not surprisingly) pimps his work on the Night Gallery Season 1 Blu-ray set. Worth your time? Only you can make that determination. I... more
Bug-eyed monster lovers rejoice! This week Craig dives deep into the pool of primordial goo that is the Outer Limits episode “Tourist Attraction.” TOL historian David J. Schow joins in to regale us with his bottomless sea of knowledge, plus Dr. Reba ... more
This week, host Craig checks out “Reap What You Sow,” a fan-made Twilight Zone episode in the spirit of the original series, then gazes backward at his own (sadly unrealized) dream of creating... well, something along the same lines. Friend of the sh... more
Nathan Van Cleave, The Twilight Zone’s most prolific composer, finally gets a well-deserved spotlighting in this special installment of the podcast, made complete by an appearance by musician and friend of the program Carson Cohen. Enjoy!

Have you ever wondered what the show might sound like with NO editing whatsoever? Like, NONE. And no script, either. No, really. We’re talking a solid hour of off-the-cuff yammering from host Craig with ZERO pre-planning (and zero production value). ... more
Submitted for your approval, part two of our epic study of Rod Serling’s World War II PTSD-demon-exorcizing Twilight Zone episodes. This time we’re neck-deep in the Pacific Theater side of things, which happens to be where Serling served---- so the e... more
We’re back (after an unintentional 4-month absence) to dissect the classic Twilight Zone episodes “Judgment Night” and “Death’s-Head Revisited." Listen with horror as Craig tries valiantly to bring a sense of levity to the proceedings (spoiler alert:... more
Great podcast, funny and informative, a wonderful listen
Great podcast, funny and informative, a wonderful listen
Only found you the last 6 months or so. Have listened to most of your shows. Sorry to hear it end. Quite entertaining Craig. You not only provided great tidbits of knowledge but always found a way to make me smile or laugh out loud.
Good luck with your future endeavors.

I would say that this is as good as if not better than the third most popular Twilight Zone podcast out there.?

This podcast is awesome. Please keep going!
Just found this podcast and have been enjoying most of the content. Between Shadow and Light goes into numerous episodes of the beloved original TZ with a deep dive analysis into themes, notable actors/directors and of course analysis of the underlying meanings related to fear and the human condition. I enjoy listening to another person who thoroughly enjoys TZ as much as I do, though there are a few things I wish would be different. The bias of his favorite episodes is pretty clear and his atti... more
This podcast is awesome. The host obviously puts a lot of time into crafting each episode, which is very informative and entertaining. I just discovered Between Light & Shadow and have been bingeing for days now. Keep it up!
As a fan of the show, I tried several other zone podcasts and this is the best of the bunch. This guy goes deep, and I really appreciate the background on the actors and the breakdown of the music. This podcast is dense, and I’ve learned so much about the show. Highly recommended for even a casual fan of the show.
Great, fun podcast.
I've been listening to Craig's TZ podcast from the beginning, and will tell you that it has improved tremendously since he launched it a few years ago. He blends a good knowledge of the subject with a lot of add-ins to keep things interesting. His production quality is strong, and it is obvious that he takes a long time to put the show together. My 4-star rating is a composite rating of the totality of his output. I would have given the early shows about 2.5 stars and his recent programs about 4... more
Craig clearly has a deep love for The Twilight Zone and podcasts from a place of encyclopedic knowledge and admiration for the series.
UPDATE: I just wanted to update my review to say that I am really enjoying Craig's reviews of the CBS All-Access Twilight Zone series. He's obviously catching more easter eggs than the average viewer would. But his commentary on the show is insightful as ever and maybe even moreso since this new TZ series has had somewhat of a rocky start for some people.
I’ve listened to Between Light & Shadow since the first episode. It’s a great podcast and a worthwhile alternative to other TZ podcasts. The episodes offer unique perspectives, interesting guests with a mix of humor and fun. This podcast also gives specific attention to the music of TZ which is something no other TZ podcast can match. The editing is very well done and the content of material is unlike any other TZ podcast. Well done, and I look forward to each show!
I recently ran across Craig’s podcast by chance and having tried a bunch of other TZ podcasts I was hesitant to even give it a listen. But with Tom Elliot now covering TZ 2019 and John and Fred so sporadic I was having withdrawal. I can’t bring myself to pay for CBS All Access just yet so I had no new TZ content without spoilers for the new show. This turned out to be a very fortune turn of events because it gave Craig’s podcasts a listen and I’m thoroughly enjoying every minute of it.

Now that John and Fred are only posting shows once in a blue moon and my weekly Twilight Zone fix has been sadly ripped from my life..... I was SO excited to find Beyond Light and Shadow!!! I enjoy the tone, the jokes and his take on the show. This is so, may I say pleasant, perhaps informative, the comparisons between episodes, if I am honest is an enjoyable way to revisit episodes. (And what a treat to have Fred from the Twilight Pwn appear) please listen and rate so this podcast does not also... more
