  • A great beekeeping podcast

The host does a pretty good job keeping the flow of the interviews going. I’ve listened to around 49 episodes and still have around 24 remaining. I appreciate the variety of content, which helps contributed to a rounded beekeeping education. There’s so many right answers in beekeeping, and so many controversies, but this podcast feels like a pretty solid place to explore/entertain both old and new ideas.

Bee Venom Therapy • Drone Races • Making Queens
Q: Okay, I want to ask you a couple more things about bee venom therapy before we move on. And I do want to preface this with obviously, lawyers out there were not giving medical advice.
Emily shares safety cautions, the importance of starting slowly, having epinephrine available, and approaching venom therapy with a careful, informed process.
Bee Venom Therapy • Drone Races • Making Queens
Q: One of my things that I'm just most interested in is everything apotherapy. And I know you do a little bit of it. Can you tell us what background you have, what you do with it?
Emily describes her background as a certified master herbalist, studies in integrative health sciences, and her experience with bee venom therapy and propolis in healing and education.
Bee Venom Therapy • Drone Races • Making Queens
Q: No. Tell us about it.
Emily explains the drone races used in educational programs and how drones from local hives are released and raced back to determine a winner, engaging students and teaching about bee behavior.
Secrets of Sustainable Beekeeping - With Beekeeper Michael Scott
Q: How do you view feeding in sustainable beekeeping?
Feeding should be minimized and only used when necessary to support the local ecosystem's carrying capacity; over-reliance on feeding can mask issues with feral bee populations and ecosystem balance.
