  • A Tour of Philsophy

Tldr; great overviews, original source material, good introductions for you to decide to read the whole text.

This podcast provides a small window for me into both known and unknown philosophical texts. IJ does a great job of providing an overview of the text and quoting the source material. I like this style because he does not lose the authors intent with his own analysis of texts that have a multitude of meanings.

  • Synthesis matters

Too often, this podcast sounds like a student who is giving a book report having not fully read or understood the text. The host manages to chose the most labyrinthine way to talk about even simple ideas, failing to paraphrase concepts in a way that might offer clarity. • A really good podcast

This podcast has really inspired me to live a life that is more aligned with my values and beliefs. I appreciate how the host takes time to read and reread his books to succinctly present the key actionable ideas for those who have not read the books. It is easy to follow along with what he is saying and the quotes directly from the books adds a whole other level to the podcast. I recommend anyone who wants to develop into a better human being and become more virtuous and courageous should liste... more
