  • Politics?

Endorsing political candidates on a fishing show is a bit wild. Don’t tell me who to vote for. I’ve only listened to two episodes. I’ll probably listen to a few more and maybe change the review if it seems appropriate. First episode was meh. Second had a lot of good info.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Scott Dobson - Smallmouth Playbook
Q: What's the number one bait for smallmouth of all time?
The tube remains king overall, but there are strong contenders like the fluke, Koïki, and new school baits; the choice depends on season and water conditions.
Jacob Foutz - A Fresh Perspective On Winning
Q: What bait or technique was pivotal for you on the bed fish, and how did it contribute to your big final-day catches?
He explains that a Burtek cranking bug was the key bed fish lure, with most of the big bites coming on that bait, complemented by some drop-shot efforts.
Jacob Foutz - A Fresh Perspective On Winning
Q: Where was your head at going into Day Three and Day Four, knowing you had a real shot at the win?
Jacob describes staying calm, being cautiously optimistic, and using the pattern he had found to keep fishing with confidence rather than chasing changes in the pattern.
Bryan Schmitt - River Fishing Strategies
Q: What would winning the Classic mean to you personally and for your career?
Winning would validate years of preparation and signal that the hard work and exacting patience you need to hunt big river events can pay off at the highest level.
Fisher Anaya and Paul Bailey
Q: Paul, what do you think about the current conditions at Clear Lake?
The bite hasn't been as good as it typically is during the wintertime, but we're still pumping 30 to 45-pound bags, and we're not even to pre-spawn yet.
