  • Brave story

Great show but we don’t need the fake interview between the two male

Journalists. Voice over narrative would have been fine, the scripted discussion adds to the creepiness

  • I wish the subject’s behaviour in the episodes was called out for what it is.

I have really been enjoying the Beef episodes, except for the fact that some of the subject’s behaviours seem to be glossed over and described in ways that don’t match societal opinions. For example, Big Rob’s described actions and behaviour is harassment, stalking, intimidation any day of the week (at least!), and I am saddened that this wasn’t emphasised and even felt a bit trivialised. Other than that - very interesting episodes! I would have rated much higher otherwise.

  • It’s a well-told story, but presenter’s voice is too relaxing

The presenter’s voice is so relaxing and hypnotic that I can’t concentrate on the story. 😂 She should do those sleep stories.

Hello again! The background music on Beef is very distracting and painful. I can’t hear the presenter or guests?

  • Riveting Journalism at Its Best

ABC News' Background Briefing is consistently one of the most compelling and intelligent investigative podcasts out there—but its Beef series takes things to an entirely new level.

The Beef series is a masterclass in storytelling and journalism. It’s engrossing from the very first minute. Background Briefing manages to distill complex issues into compelling episodes without dumbing too much down. The team digs deep, asks hard questions, and presents the facts with clarity and empathy.
