As a medical resident, I’m impressed by how this podcast is able to offer expert-driven insights into the cutting edge of oncology without losing listeners in the weeds of a highly specialized topic. These episodes are concise, charismatically delivered, and fascinating.

  • No help to practice. Agenda driven.

None of this helps me in my practice. It seems like an agenda driven outlet with very little, if any practice changing information.

GU Cancer Highlights From ASCO26: PROTEUS, TALAPRO-3, and RAMPART
Q: Can you summarize TALAPRO-3 and its potential impact on the treatment landscape for metastatic HRR gene-altered prostate cancer?
TALAPRO-3 added a PARP inhibitor early in the disease course alongside ADT and enzolutamide, showing a meaningful improvement in radiographic progression-free survival across HRR mutation subgroups, which may support earlier genomically guided combination strategies in this setting.
The Future of AI in Oncology: A Conversation With Google's AI Innovators
Q: What are the main limitations of AI in real-world, high-stakes oncology decisions?
Limitations include the need for expert human oversight, the complex balance of patient-specific factors and preferences that may not be captured fully, and the risk that AI reminders or suggestions must be delivered within careful, accountable medical decision-making frameworks.
The Future of AI in Oncology: A Conversation With Google's AI Innovators
Q: How does AMI perform in breast oncology scenarios compared to clinicians of varying experience?
In synthetic breast oncology cases, AMI performed well enough to outperform trainees and fellows in several areas, but attendings still outperformed the AI, highlighting that AI can match lower-to-mid levels of expertise while still needing refinement to reach top-tier clinical intuition.
The Future of AI in Oncology: A Conversation With Google's AI Innovators
Q: What makes AMI distinct from a standard chatbot in medical contexts?
AMI is designed with domain-specific reasoning, clinical information handling, and processes like multi-step inference, web searches for up-to-date clinical knowledge, and self-critique to adjust its outputs, making it more suitable for nuanced medical decision support than general chatbots.
'No Margin for Error': What to Know Before Implementing AI in Clinical Practice
Q: Can you tell us some of the cool stuff we might anticipate in the next year or two as it pertains to how we're using AI in oncology, radiology, and genomics?
AI is poised to enhance clinical decision support, accelerate trial matching, and improve radiology and pathology workflows, while still requiring careful governance to avoid over-reliance. The key is balancing AI-enabled efficiency with rigorous source verification, explainability, and a constant emphasis on medical judgment and patient-centered care.
