I would love to hear why prof westwood considers lynchings in the past to be political violence but racist murder today would be somehow denigrated if it was similarly considered political? Open racism is clearly an increasingly defined and articulated political position, exercised through policy and specific authoritarian "norm-breaking " methods of governance. This sleight of hand defines his "surprising" conclusions that right wing political violence is rare , and i individualistic when in f... more
Title pretty much says it all , but I simply adore her. She makes EVERYONE feel comfortable, not judged, asks thoughtful questions, NEVER interrupts, but has the most soothing “Mmmm…” to show she’s listening… you can truly HEAR how intently she is focusing across the ether just by hearing the tone of her voice!
Yes ok I am fan-girling a bit, but she deserves it and I am SO GLAD they hired a woman for this job/ show. Shumita, if you ever read this, you are the best.

In Conversation is worth listening to on non-political topics 5⭐️Apple News Daily frames the news through a leftist lens 1 ⭐️. Shamita tries to be subtle with her adverbs and adjectives: “Alarmingly, the Trump admin…” Let listeners decide if they should be alarmed. Her “expert” interviews on political issues are selected to convince the listener of a left-wing perspective. Sells itself as objective, but is very biased toward a left-leaning spin. Worth listening to in order to pick out the logi... more
The only, and I truly mean the only reason I listen to the show is because of how entertaining it is to listen to her give the most inaccurate political news possible. When Trump says fake news, this fake news that, this lady truly is at the top of that list. It makes my heart warm, listening to how she attempts to undermine Trump and every Republican at any angle that she possibly can when the facts or something completely opposite as to what she is “reporting.” Man I get a kick out of this! 😂... more
