  • Terrific resource in troubled times

We're living in massively unsettled times with oversimplified solutions on offer everywhere you listen. Matthew Remski's coverage here is more in-depth and careful than what you'll find on most podcasts. He manages to sound clarion moral calls without sounding preachy or dour. People might be surprised to find an anti-fascist voice so deeply saturated by kindness, but Remski seems to be fighting fascism precisely because he hopes for a kinder world. Just like so many anti-fascists ultimately do.... more

  • Hard truths, spoken softly.

Matthew Remski is uncompromising in his politics, but his life experiences temper how he approaches them. The result is a distinctly “Dad” tone that adds depth and character to a leftist media sphere that sometimes lacks nuance. Give this a listen!

One of the biggest threats to them is letting them slip into “good “values that end up, predisposing them to authoritarian or fascist tendencies, as we have been learning over a... more

He emphasizes starting with solidarity and community, recognizing the marathon nature of activism, prioritizing mental and emotional health, building trusted networks, and staying committed to collective struggle rather than seeking quick wins.
25. Polite Canada Remilitarizes w/ Brent Patterson
Q: Brent, how long have you been an anti-war activist?
Brent began organizing in 1988, joining anti-war actions like the G7 protest in Toronto and later enduring decades of campaigns, losses, and wins in the struggle against militarism.
24: Mutual Aid in Islam w/Mona Haydar
Q: How do you describe Ramadan beyond fasting, in terms of community and self-regulation?

Q: Could you walk through the basic Muslim greetings and their meanings?
The greeting assalamu alaikum means 'peace be upon you,' and the usual response is 'and peace be upon you as well,' functioning as a prayer and a community-building signal.
