  • Terrific resource in troubled times

We're living in massively unsettled times with oversimplified solutions on offer everywhere you listen. Matthew Remski's coverage here is more in-depth and careful than what you'll find on most podcasts. He manages to sound clarion moral calls without sounding preachy or dour. People might be surprised to find an anti-fascist voice so deeply saturated by kindness, but Remski seems to be fighting fascism precisely because he hopes for a kinder world. 31. Voices of Kensington will Ring in Ottawa w/Serena Purdy
Q: What role does the federal government play in health care compared to provincial responsibilities, and how do you communicate this to voters?

31. Voices of Kensington will Ring in Ottawa w/Serena Purdy
Q: How do you balance policy knowledge with the realities of campaigning in diverse neighborhoods like Kensington Market?
She explains that understanding local diversity and meeting people where they are is essential, using a diverse campaign team and direct community engagement to translate high-level health policy into practical, accessible information for everyday voters.
31. Voices of Kensington will Ring in Ottawa w/Serena Purdy
Q: What was your elevator pitch about what to expect over the next three years after running in the by-election?
Serena outlines the stakes of austerity politics, the need to defend socialized medicine, and the importance of mobilizing around healthcare access and voting rights, while emphasizing that federal action must be understood in concert with grassroots, local organizing.
27. The Proto-Fascism of “Trust me” Carney w/ Leftie Jane
Q: What is the core concern with Bill C-12 and how does it affect asylum seekers?

Q: What would you tell young activists who want to follow this long path?
He emphasizes starting with solidarity and community, recognizing the marathon nature of activism, prioritizing mental and emotional health, building trusted networks, and staying committed to collective struggle rather than seeking quick wins.
