  • Love hate relationship

I genuinely love this show and have listened since the original days, however if there was one thing that I would change is the constant annoying keyboard tapping sounds in the background, whenever one of the hosts is talking, you can hear another host furiously tapping away on their keyboard and it’s starting to verge on listening to ASMR podcast, please for the love of God stop this it is the only thing that I could find wrong with this show but now that I have noticed it it drives me insane

  • Too Long

The content is very good but it can do with some editing. Episodes are the length of a feature movie. Even at 1.5 speed (which I wish not to do) it’s long. I often mean to listen but don’t want to commit 1:45 hrs.

  • Pretty Bad

Started off good, then Jason Howell showed up and brought the “TWiT” vibe, which is not a good thing and lead to me stopping my Patreon support. Now there’s too many hosts talking over each other, too many low-quality ads, too much off-topic conversation, poorly researched news (you can hear Jason stumbling through the website as he records) and Jason and Ron spend way too much of their time telling you how to give them more money or buy merch. I get it, they need income but they’re doing it in ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Samsung Fold 8, Squatty Short King
Q: What devices did Adam have in hand at Unpacked and how did they compare in size and usability?
Adam described holding both the Galaxy Fold 8 (Short King) and the Fold 8 Ultra, noting the Ultra is larger but the Short King is more immersive for media and everyday use; both showed the transition in aspect ratio and overall thinness, with the Ultra being notably thinner when side-on.
Qualcomm's Phone Chief Talks RAMageddon and AI
Q: What should Android fans be watching for at Galaxy Unpacked without revealing confidential information?
Look for insights into long-running partnerships with Samsung, expectations around AI use cases and agentic capabilities, and hints about form factors that push the boundaries of current devices, with the emphasis on how collaboration accelerates innovation across the platform.
Qualcomm's Phone Chief Talks RAMageddon and AI
Q: How does Qualcomm approach foldables and power/thermal management to keep devices thin while delivering strong AI and gaming experiences?
We design with multi-battery layouts, aggressive power management, and tight integration between display, camera, and radio subsystems to control heat and power while maintaining high performance in a slim form factor, especially on foldables.
Qualcomm's Phone Chief Talks RAMageddon and AI
Q: From your perspective, what does a phone look like in a couple of years if AI becomes the new UI and apps fade into the background?
AI will be increasingly distributed between edge and cloud, with local processing enabling natural language conversations and action execution on-device, while perception and reasoning drive smarter, context-aware experiences. The phone remains central but may be complemented by wearables and peripherals that broaden sensing and input for more seamless interactions.
Android's Intelligence Era - A Conversation with Sameer Samat
Q: What is the role of developers in enabling Gemini's app automation, and how will app actions and APIs evolve?
The guest explains that Gemini can navigate apps as a baseline capability without developer action, but deeper integration via app actions and APIs will yield better performance and two-way conversations with apps; Google intends to make it a good business for developers to participate and evolve the ecosystem.
