  • Good podcast except for the episode with Kenzie and Laura

She says like after every single word. So annoying. Why does Laura LaMagna not know how to pronounce especially? Why does she think it is ekspecially? What is wrong with her.

  • volume pls

Great pod but why is the volume always so low? Especially for the 2004 best actress episode I can barely hear the guest. And no it’s not my headphones, this pod in particular is always super quiet

  • Kevin knows his stuff. Excellent podcast.

There are many Awards podcasts out these days. Some great, some not so great. And the Runner Up is one of the great ones. Kevin is an excellent host. He creates such a warm and welcoming environment for his guests. Kevin’s research and knowledge is so impressive that you would never know he wasn’t around during a big portion of the Oscars. Kevin is so thoughtful and detailed when describing a film or a particular performance. He also is so respectful of his criticism of a particular film or perf... more

  • Top tier podcast, SO good

This is such a great podcast. A detailed and fascinating journey through the history of this most fabulous of Oscar categories.

The presenter and guests are knowledgable and engaging. It’s been such a treat looking at the careers of these screen legends and rediscovering a lot of films I haven’t seen for a long time, and discovering some that are new to me and I can’t believe I haven’t seen them before.

If you’re interested in the Oscars, or films in general, this is an essential listen.

Best Actress: The Finale
Q: What would be your first three Best Actress vote total years that you'd look at if they ever released?
Yes, I would want to know 1950, 2018, and 2006 due to the competition level and narrative surrounding those years.
Best Actress: The Finale
Q: What do you want to know?
I mean, obviously, we can't start without telling you and congratulating you on just the gargantuan feat of this series and the previous as well.
Best Actress: The Finale
Q: Where your love of Oscars began, was there a year or a race that became a definable and solidifying moment for you?
For me, the real getting really into it was 2006, which is another weird thing because I was into the office and I loved Steve Carell. And that led me to check out Little Miss Sunshine, and I just absolutely fell head over heels for that movie when I saw it.
1998 Best Actress (feat. Joyce Eng)
Q: What are your overall thoughts on this lineup?
Joyce expressed that she liked the lineup overall and did not hate any performances in it.
1998 Best Actress (feat. Joyce Eng)
Q: What is your most heartbreaking snub overall in this category?
Joyce mentioned that Nicole Kidman for To Die For got snubbed when she later saw the film and thought it was a worthy nomination.
