Gustavo sigue buscando la solución para salvar a Antonia de su eternidad en el limbo, pero no cuenta con la energía requerida para construir el paso de tres décadas en la máquina del tiempo. Chucho y Antonia se despiden para siempre.
Elsa, en 1954, sigue tramando cómo convertir el mundo capitalista en uno más igualitario. Sin buscarlo, Antonia llega a 1961, al aeropuerto de Techo, donde el presidente Kennedy da un discurso. La posibilidad de salvar a Antonia cada vez es menor.
Antonia se entera de que Chucho trabaja con Ofelia Uribe, una de las personas que luchó por el reconocimiento de los derechos civiles y políticos de las mujeres. Está conmovida con lo progresista del joven, así que le hace una fuerte confesión.
Todo es una carrera contra el reloj. La única forma de salvar la vida de Rogelio es volver al presente y llevar sangre de él mismo para hacer una transfusión. Los jóvenes solo tienen 45 minutos para regresar y no quedar anclados en el siglo XX.
En 1953 Antonia le insiste a Rogelio que busque a Rocío, pero él ya no cree en ese amor y decide unirse a la lucha estudiantil. En la marcha por el estudiante Uriel Gutiérrez, Rogelio es gravemente herido.
Antonia logra entrar en la casa de Rocío y encuentra las cartas de amor que Rogelio le envió. Esas cartas fueron retenidas por el padre de Rocío para que no se enterara de que Rogelio la seguía amando.
Antonia y Camilo llegan a 1951 y conocen a Gustavo, el creador de la máquina del tiempo, a quien le piden ayuda para encontrar a Rocío. El tiempo corre más rápido; Rogelio está en la Guerra de Corea y Rocío está a minutos de casarse con el francés.
