Thank you, BBC for airing this magnificent story. I was a freshman in high school in a different state and knew nothing of the story in 1969. These 14 men did not have any idea of the consequences of what would happen to them. So their standing up for justice was an act of inherent courage because of the, wonderful people that they were and are. I was in high school several states away from Wyoming when this occurred but never knew anything about it—I did, however, know about the Black arms raised at the Mexico City Olympics and the civil rights demonstrations of that time. Thanks for sharing this event; I feel so sad for what these brave men experienced, based solely on skin color—and this is still occurring today 60+ years later. These 4 episodes were well done!
Times are different now - but so grateful for these strong young men to have made a stand. And for their story to finally be told. Thank you BBC!
History matters and your episode on the B14 could not have made that anymore obvious…great job…continue to tell great amazing historical stories!!!!
I enjoyed listening to this series and learning about the history and role of student athletes as activists.
