  • Poor reporting

I’m listening to “Inside Hezbolah” - the questions are in English (obviously originally not in English) BUT it would be fabulous to hear the English translation of the responses. So NO real understanding on my part of the interviewee’s views - which was the key point of this episode. Lots of views of other reporters, but from the title, the key point of the views inside were what counted, and we couldn’t understand them because we don’t speak their language. So, if you are going to broadcast ... more

  • Excellent, except…

The music hype is repetitive and simply junk-noise. Please calm down. The news doesn’t need any hype-push today. The chaos and crises are loud enough in text as spoken by your fine reporters. All of you: stellar reporting.

  • Israeli UN Ambassador, Danny Danon

Amanpour delivered a masterclass of journalism: showing the highest degree of respect, while not allowing opaque dishonesty overlooked. I was screaming into my headphones, she asked literally every question that I wanted answers for. I still don’t REALLY know those answers—he never gave a direct response (but maybe that’s the answer).

MY POINT: this the best-of-best journalist. Bravo.. and thank you.

  • Stick with Amanpour!!

Christiane is the only person from CNN whose podcasts I still listen to for news. She serves it up intelligently with integrity and without an agenda.

  • Please Don’t Interrupt

If Christiane could somehow learn to NOT interrupt important guests like David Petraeus, then I would be able to hear what Mr. Petraeus has to say, in response to her pointed questions. Rather than hearing incessant, indignant, and disrespectful interruptions from Ms. Amanpour. Let the man speak !! That is the purpose of the interview for God’s sack! Learn some respect!

Talking Points

UN GA Prez Annalena Baerbock
Q: How can the United Nations become more effective given pressure from permanent Security Council members and funding constraints?
She emphasizes that the UN can only be as strong as the political will of its member states, calls for renewed funding commitments, reform of funding mechanisms, and a commitment to uphold the Charter, even as power dynamics complicate consensus.
UN GA Prez Annalena Baerbock
Q: What are the implications of the US–Iran memorandum of understanding for regional stability and human rights in Iran?
Baerbock argues that while negotiations and agreements are part of stabilizing the region, it is essential that any deal respects the sovereignty and rights of the Iranian people, does not undermine human rights, and remains firmly anchored in the UN Charter and non-proliferation norms.
New Book Examines Russia's War Against Ukraine
Q: How did the shelter at the theatre function day-to-day for thousands of people?
The theatre's staff and volunteers improvised a refugee shelter, leveraging the building's existing space, volunteer efforts, and a makeshift field kitchen to feed and shelter thousands daily for two weeks before it was bombed.
New Book Examines Russia's War Against Ukraine
Q: What made you decide to focus on Mariupol as the subject of your book?
Verini explains his long reporting in Ukraine, the urgency of Mariupol in the early war days, and how the siege's human stories became a focal point that reveals broader truths about civilian resilience and the costs of war.
Assessing Trump’s State of Mind
Q: What is the broader implication of Trump's claims for American democracy?
Susan Glasser explains that repeated baseless claims erode public trust in institutions and complicate the political process, but legal systems and judges have largely found no evidence of widespread fraud, which underscores a tension between rhetoric and verifiable outcomes.
