  • Great Podcast!

I throughly enjoy listening to the AMPED podcast. I previously worked ground EMS, and now work for a neo/peds transport team. This podcast provides great case review, and allows listeners to critically think their way through the case as well. It offers a fantastic multi-disciplinary approach with the crew, medical directors, and logistical perspective. Keep up the good work!

  • Sad

Episode 35 has no mention of the excellent work the fire crew did on scene and prior to the helicopter’s arrival. A cardiac arrest save is a team effort and the flight crew failed to acknowledge the other half of the pre hospital team. Sad.

    Do better, Mercy Air.

Air Methods Prehospital EDucation Podcast Ep. 45: Heed Your Intuition
Q: What do you want to give them to stabilize them?
I need some kind of a beta blocker to slow the heart rate down, but it must be done with caution given the patient's condition.

Q: What makes you pull the trigger and say, all right, I'm going to risk time is muscle injuring this guy's heart just to make sure nothing is wrong?
We weigh the risks and benefits, and sometimes taking preventive actions, like checking vital signs and doing tests, is necessary to avoid missing a serious condition.
