Jakob Wasserthal started studying computer science, moved into image analysis during his master's, and eventually completed his PhD focusing on diffusion MRI images. His interest in making a significant impact in medicine led him to work at the University Hospital Basel, where he developed TotalSegmentator to streamline medical image segmentation.
