Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Rethinking Git for the Age of Coding Agents with GitHub Cofounder Scott Chacon
Q: Why did you pivot from a GUI to emphasize CLI/TUI, and how does that fit agentic workflows?
GUIs are often insufficient for agents because they can't interact with rich, batch-oriented workflows the same way; CLIs and TUIs enable scripting, structured outputs, and agent-friendly data formats, while still allowing a human-friendly experience—it's about optimizing for different user personas and tasks.
Rethinking Git for the Age of Coding Agents with GitHub Cofounder Scott Chacon
Q: What motivates you to rethink Git and its interfaces now, given how foundational Git is to software development?
The motivation is that the current toolset is centuries-old in design and often in conflict with how modern teams and agents operate; with AI-assisted coding, we need interfaces that can surface the right information, support parallel work, and reduce friction in collaboration, not just replicate traditional workflows.
How AI Is Reshaping IT Services from the Inside
Q: What advantages come with inorganic partnerships versus starting from scratch when modernizing MSPs?
Partnerships bring in immediate industry expertise and access to established operators, which helps accelerate adoption and credibility while you simultaneously invest in organic growth to deeply engage end customers.
How AI Is Reshaping IT Services from the Inside
Q: Why do you have to go into the guts? Why can't you just go and offer a software platform to the MSP and make it all clean on top of existing systems?
Because most customers don't fully implement or configure software, and legacy MSPs are built on fragmented, aging workflows. You need to redesign the underlying workflows and processes, not just layer a new tool on top; otherwise you end up with a brittle, half-baked stack that won't scale.
What's Missing Between LLMs and AGI - Vishal Misra & Martin Casado
Q: How do you see the role of continual learning versus scaling in achieving AGI?
Scale alone won't solve everything; you need continual learning to preserve plasticity and a robust causal model to move from correlation to causation, which are essential to reach AGI.
