A podcast about learning lessons from the past that then …..platform’s Steve Bannon with no pushback?!?!!? Are you kidding?!?!? It’s one thing to let Bannon speak, but to say nothing about all the lies he spouts- hmmm, I wonder how we ever got here.
Also, this podcast has the most ads to content of any I’ve ever listened to. Congrats on the $, but that was so annoying.
The big lesson from the Big Short is that we have to hold corporations and CEOs accountable, both financially and criminally. The lack of consequences for gaming the system allows this behavior to continue.
I would give this 5 stars because I love Michael Lewis and really enjoy his deep and provocative takes on all kinds of subjects and his facility in explaining things clearly; however, l do not enjoy Lydia Jean Kott’s voice, I feel slightly uncomfortable with the interaction between Michael and Lydia and there are so many commercials!
GET RID of the 6 YO “HOST” - She is terrible and ruins the ability to get into the content. Terrible hiring decision. She sounds like a dumbbell.

I did see the movie and loved it. I could only give 4 stars because the girl setting up the episodes sounds like a five year old.... more

This program examines the legacy of the 2008 financial crisis through in-depth conversations with reporters, economists, historians, and high-profile figures connected to The Big Short. Episodes blend historical analysis of the crisis with contemporary market implications, featuring interviews with filmmakers, investors, and policymakers to unpack how subprime lending, regulation, and Wall Street culture shaped today's economy.
