  • Who spliced this?!

I am an avid morning brew listener and heard an ad over there for this podcast. It sounded interesting but upon listening to the adobe episode, all I got was ads interrupting the interview and answers getting interrupted with the next question due to a bad splice job. It doesn’t even seem like someone reviewed this before publishing.

  • Ad timing

When the ads are slammed in and cut off a host it’s clear that the podcast isn’t produced with care. And I have to carry the thread through the ad. Great content but details are ruining it.

I’ll be back when you fix the ad placements, thanks!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Dynex Capital Co-CEO Smriti Popenoe on Mortgage REITs, the Fed and Risk Management in Housing Finance
Q: How do you view the changes in Fed rates and their impact on your assets?
Changes in Fed rates affect financing costs for Dynex, and the relationship between Fed rates and mortgage yields can create refinancing risks.
Dynex Capital Co-CEO Smriti Popenoe on Mortgage REITs, the Fed and Risk Management in Housing Finance
Q: What do you think about the proposed regulations to cap institutional ownership of residential real estate?
Popenoe argues that while institutional ownership is a small percentage of the market, capping it won't necessarily solve housing affordability issues, which stem from a broader supply-demand imbalance.
Dynex Capital Co-CEO Smriti Popenoe on Mortgage REITs, the Fed and Risk Management in Housing Finance
Q: Can you talk to us about where you source those mortgages from?
Dynex sources mortgages primarily from government-sponsored enterprises like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which buy mortgages from banks and securitize them.
Gen CEO Vincent Pilette on Norton, Security and Financial Wellness
Q: Should I be thinking of a future where I see Gen, where I see you coming back on this show, talking about moving or buying into the insurance space, moving into the healthcare documentation space?
We realize that our foundation is security, and cybersecurity broadly defined, and we need to continue to make that a very strong foothold while exploring adjacencies in financial wellness and beyond.
Gen CEO Vincent Pilette on Norton, Security and Financial Wellness
Q: How do you see now, as you put together your integration, execution? How do you see, as you follow one user, coming into Norton, for example, then moving over to LifeLock, and then moving over to using the MoneyLion application?
We have learned through experiences that actually cross-selling brands is very difficult, as a customer trusts one brand, and their expectations around those brands vary.
