  • Essential for food allergy parents!

Thank you, Dr. Stukus for this wealth of knowledge in this very digestible form. There’s so much outdated information and misinformation out there, and so many episodes in this podcast are absolutely essential for parents of kids with food allergies. Thank you for covering so many topics that we need to know about to effectively advocate for our kids at the allergist’s office, school and social settings!

  • Wrong link aaai.org

Very informative for both clinicians and patients. However the links in the note and the transcript are missing an extra a. When it directed me aaai.org instead of aaaai.org and showed the information about AI I was very confused.

  • Great topics for listeners of all backgrounds

I enjoy listening to the podcast, Dr. Stukus does a good job interviewing the participants. I recently enjoyed listening to the interview with Dr. Khokhar. The audio quality of the podcast has gotten better with time but still could be better.

  • Great topics, audio quality can be better

I enjoy listening to the topics and speakers on the podcast, however, the poor audio quality makes it difficult to do so.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Alpha-Gal Syndrome: From Tick Bite to Anaphylaxis, Clinical Pearls and Unanswered
Q: Why does the reaction tend to be delayed, and what does that imply for management?
The delay is thought to be linked to lipid absorption and the presence of alfa-gal on lipids; this implies we should consider the fat content of meals and potentially plan for delayed symptom onset during challenges and education about timing for epinephrine use and avoidance strategies.
Alpha-Gal Syndrome: From Tick Bite to Anaphylaxis, Clinical Pearls and Unanswered
Q: How would you describe what AlphaGal is to a patient who's coming to see you?
AlphaGal syndrome is an allergic reaction to a sugar molecule found in non-primate mammalian meat; patients may react to red meat and derived products, and the timing is often delayed, which is a key diagnostic clue.
Alpha-Gal Syndrome: From Tick Bite to Anaphylaxis, Clinical Pearls and Unanswered
Q: That's great. What got you interested in AlphaGal in particular?
I wanted to pursue something related to food allergy and found that the AlphaGal story aligned with emerging adult-onset allergies; it fit my interests in food allergy and the role of skin exposure in sensitization, making it a compelling area to study.
The Potential Role for GLP-1 Agonists in Asthma Treatment
Q: Would you start by telling us a little bit about yourself and include something you like to do outside of medicine?
The guest describes training at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a focus on severe asthma mechanisms, and commuting by bike; they emphasize collaboration across endocrine/metabolic fields as essential to advancing research in obesity-associated asthma.
Making the Most of the 2026 AAAAI Annual Meeting
Q: How can QAEA members get involved in the program committee?
Members can contribute ideas through the session portal or by engaging with their committees to develop ideas for submission.
