While I was neck deep and practically binging Tale of the Manticore, I couldn’t sleep while it was still dark out. I checked this out as a way to pass time for the light, and I regret it none. The calm music choices, Maddy Searle’s flexible writing styles and clear, calm voice all weave together for the coziest Solo actual play I’ve encountered yet :~}.
Maddie Searle’s roleplaying is as excellent as her editing, in this actual play podcast that explores the under-served arena of single-player roleplaying games.
The first (if thus far only) story is a haunting tale of isolation and fear that left me with goosebumps and a whole host of theories. Fortunately, the calming intro and outro music put me in a nice calm space to let the story wash over me without getting too swept up.
