If you would like a well rounded and complete history of Sweden, this is a great podcast. I’ve listened to it over a couple years and the Hosts are engaging and well researched.
I have no connection to Sweden, but this podcast has become one of my favorites. It’s a delightfully unpretentious take on Swedish history. The hosts are relaxed and engaging: a Swede and her English partner bring both local flair and a healthy sense of historical perspective, which makes an approachable and engaging podcast!

A historically rich, chronologically structured show that blends deep dives into Sweden's past with warm, conversational banter. Episodes mix political intrigue, dynastic power plays, and significant wars with lighthearted touches such as a recurring language phrase of the week and field-trip style recordings. The format consistently centers on accessible storytelling and broad Swedish history—from prehistoric times through modern eras—often weaving in culture, travel texture, and archival context. A notable strength is the duo's chemistry and knack for making complex periods engaging, making it appealing to history buffs, language learners, and curious travelers alike.
