6月18日，中國現象級電影《給阿嬤的情書》已在馬來西亞、新加坡上映，票房成績也相當亮眼。
不過這部電影在上映前，因《聯合早報》駐北京記者沈澤瑋的評論文章「《給阿嬤的情書》的統戰啟示」，，也引起了一陣輿論風暴。
當《給阿嬤的情書》在新馬兩國上映後，當地華人觀眾普遍給予好評，認為該片真切地反映了獨立前華僑社會對家鄉的情感。
不過，也有早已落地生根的華人提醒，這部電影不一定全面反映當時中國人下南洋的歷史，有的人是為了逃避中共政權而離開，有的留在家鄉的華僑眷屬，在文革時期被迫害。

今年是古寧頭戰役爆發77年，而59年前的1967年6月2日，曾領導古寧頭戰役的李良榮將軍，不幸在馬來西亞怡保市車禍過世。
曾擔任福建省主席的李良榮將軍，在50年代離開台灣政壇，選擇到很多福建人後裔的馬來亞闖蕩從商，是馬國建國初期水泥產業重要人物，他和南洋富商陳六使在怡保創立了大石水泥廠（Tasek Cement）。

1963年7月26日，就讀政大新聞系一年級的馬來西亞僑生俞自鋒被發現陳屍在指南宮山崖下，政大和僑委會只用兩封電報告訴家屬孩子走了。
由於俞自鋒家境清寒，當時家人無法來台領取屍體，但校方和官方也不願意告訴俞自鋒的高中同學墓地在哪裡。
1979年，弟弟俞自海嘗試來台尋墓但不成功，2012年大姊俞金梅得到俞自鋒托夢，隔年俞自海成功在台北六張犁公墓找到二哥的墓碑。
這十多年來，俞自海依舊在尋找二哥死亡的真相，他曾登報紙要去僑委會和政大道歉但不過。
