  • So much advertising

Look, I love Yumi and Simon and their podcast but there’s just way too much advertising now - the last 5 or so episodes have had almost 50% of the show time dedicated to ads. It’s just too frustrating to fast forward through them, I’ll be unsubscribing unfortunately.

What is "China Maxxing"?
Q: What is China Maxxing?
The guests explain that China Maxxing is a trend where people, especially in the US, briefly adopt or explore Chinese cultural practices such as drinking hot water for digestion, trying congee, and experimenting with Chinese teas, often realizing how much of these habits are already common in Chinese and Asian communities. The discussion emphasizes curiosity, cultural exchange, and the playful side of discovering everyday traditions that have long existed in other cultures.
Optimizing San Choi Bao
Q: What is the easiest Chinese meal to cook at home?
San Choi Bao, because you can use any vegetables or leftover proteins and simply stir-fry with a quick sauce.
GARFIELD LASAGNA
Q: What do you put on top?
I put grated mozzarella on top, grated tasty cheese, a bit of grated parmesan, which I always have knocking around in the fridge for finishing pasta dishes.
GARFIELD LASAGNA
Q: Do you pre-cook those before you start layering or do they go in just as is?
No, they absolutely don't need pre-cooking, and neither do the dried ones that I tend to go for too.
GARFIELD LASAGNA
Q: Can I use a potato masher?
You could, but you might get splatters of molten tomato sauce going all around the kitchen.
