  • Sadly lacking in characterful exchanges

Sorry Chris Smith but you aren’t a patch on Rhod Sharp and the whole show misses Dr Karl like the third wheel on a Reliant Robin!

It pains me to say it but I find the now desert dry presentation and it’s more brassy / bright sonic tone so off putting.

The lovely late night homeliness of Rhod Sharp and Dr Karl was a weekly delight and something to look forward to.

It just goes to show that on radio the voice tones and ambience really matter. Sad.

  • “Dabbling” in politics as Chief Scientist Advisor

I generally like the host but he does sometimes put his own knowledge/understanding above that of the expert. Really just showing off. But my blood boiled when he asked Prof Julie Williams what she has been doing “after dabbling” in politics as Chief Scientist Advisor for the Welsh government. Breathtaking. Maybe he should get back to medicine after dabbling in radio.

  • It was better when Dr Karl was on

I used to listen avidly to the BBC Science Podcast. But since they stopped working with Dr. Karl I stopped listening and started listening to Dr. Karl’s Tripple J Science Podcast from Australia
