  • Kat is awesome!

I learn so much from Kat. Amy is just trying to make money selling things because she’s too dumb to give advice. I’m not buying anything that she sells when her boyfriend is a gazillionaire. She doesn’t need the money. If this was Kat only, I would totally listen.

The Capable Conversation Everyone Needs to Hear Whether You Have Kids or Not (Couch Talks)
Q: What do I do if my child is capable but chooses not to do a task when I'm in a time crunch?
Acknowledge the dilemma and balance immediate needs with long-term goals, letting tasks unfold gradually while possibly circling back later with a gentle consequence or support to keep moving forward.
When Everyone Vents To You & You're Over It + The Blue Wand That Cleans Your Shoes (Couch Talks)
Q: How can I set boundaries with family without causing major guilt or conflict?
Identify your capacity first, then communicate it clearly using 'I' statements, and invite reciprocal support. Expect that there will be initial discomfort as people adjust, but with consistency, the new pattern becomes easier and deserves practice.
The 'Just Waits' Worth Looking Forward To & When Your Partner is Grieving Something (Couch Talks)
Q: What is the best way to support a partner who is grieving the life he imagined as a dad, given he has a seven-year-old daughter and split custody?
Validate his feelings, offer to listen without immediately problem-solving, ask what he needs in the moment, and get involved in planning time with his daughter to create meaningful memories together. Show up consistently, name emotions aloud when appropriate, and focus on shared presence rather than trying to fix the situation.
What's God Got To Do With It?: "Are You Here?" — Finding Signs from Heaven After Loss (With Jenny Robinson-Clark)
Q: What is the main takeaway you want grieving children and families to have from this book?
