Found this recently, liking the honest commentary.
Great show and thank you for doing this! At first, I thought, “How can one talk about an album for 2 hours?” Well, it’s not all about the album.
You get conversation about venue history, news headlines during the time, Dead happenings around show time, recording techniques, tapers challenges & other interesting bits which show the homework the hosts did!
Really enjoyed this show. Fun, knowledgeable hosts. Nice format. I’ve enjoyed listening to each pick, then throwing on the corresponding episode. I don’t agree with everything these fellows say, but they clearly love them some Dead, and I love listening to them obsess about it.
I hope they aren’t done with the Dead. They could always jump right into the vault releases or Road Trips, right?
First listen, and this had to be the worst dead commentary I’ve ever tried to listen to.
Couldn’t tell if they were fans or they did this because they had to. I will not try to make it through another show.
Great podcast. Good times. Packing up the tents now. Let us all know what you two are up to and maybe see you down the road.
Last saw the GD in the summer ‘89. Time passes quickly. Garcia is the only guitarist I still listen to every day. Always more and something new there every listen.
