  • Becoming frustrating

Great guests and the commentary is engaging BUT the hosts need to stop talking over one another (including their guests). Figure it out - please. I read another review from a year ago citing the same thing.

  • Hitchcock interview

Looked forward to this episode - severely disappointing. Ken’s responses were very mundane followed by an awkward silence that propelled you guys to jump in and add comments or pose another question. Brutal

  • Shannon is Awful

Millard needs a new partner. Shannon is a long-winded blow hard who speaks over everyone.

  • Gretzky is a traitor

He can call himself a Canadian but Canadians reject him and his traitorous self. Particularly, my mother who WAS his biggest fan.

He should have stuck to hockey.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S2 Ep94: Hollywood Calling: Peter Laviolette on Taking the Kings Job and Returning to the NHL.
Q: How does Laviolette view interviews and the process of getting back into coaching?
He views interviews as opportunities to learn, prepare, and present a clear plan, emphasizing honesty about why he is the right fit and how he can help a team, while avoiding arrogance and focusing on concrete solutions.
S2 Ep94: Hollywood Calling: Peter Laviolette on Taking the Kings Job and Returning to the NHL.
Q: What was Laviolette's approach to assembling his LA Kings staff?
He prioritized adding a mix of experienced and fresh perspectives, bringing in Phil Housley to run defense and matchups, Chris Hite for penalty kill familiarity, and Ray Whitney for forward play and the power play, aiming for a cohesive group that could implement his system.
S2 Ep94: Hollywood Calling: Peter Laviolette on Taking the Kings Job and Returning to the NHL.
Q: What are the big changes in the broadcasting landscape for hockey right now?
The national rights have shifted to Rogers and Sportsnet, with Hockey Night in Canada staying with CBC but largely moving content away from CBC as Rogers relays most hockey to its own platforms; the change is framed as a modernization and brand evolution rather than a return to the old format.
S2 Ep88: Disaster in Detroit, Chaos in Columbus: Jody Shelley on Yzerman's Exit, the Werenski Standoff, and the NHL's Biggest Offseason Stories
Q: What did you make of Werenski staying with Columbus for this year, and what does it mean for the team going forward?
Shelley noted that Werenski's decision to stay came during a tense period around the draft, suggesting that it reflects the player's desire to remain where he is, while the team must navigate leadership, culture, and contract dynamics. The implication is that Columbus will continue to invest in Werenski and its core while adjusting leadership and strategy to compete.
S2 Ep92: Moving On: Senators Coach Travis Green on Tkachuk's Departure, New Faces, & What's Next for Ottawa
Q: What does the leadership and communication with the GM look like?
Green described a strong, honest relationship with Steve Staios built on trust and frequent, open dialogue, which helps align decisions and player development.
