本期是“中东”系列的第3期。目的地是阿曼，我们离开“空白之地”沙漠，沿着塞拉莱、苏尔、尼兹瓦和马斯喀特的顺序走，看看沙漠、海洋与信仰是如何塑造一个国家的。在这趟旅途中，我们去了解乳香、香薰文化和唐朝即到达中国的大食（阿拉伯）商人；也会去造船厂看看阿拉伯式的缝合船与纵向帆，是如何影响到欧洲人的大航海；再进入内陆的尼兹瓦去了解falaj水利系统如何运作，也会和普通的阿曼人聊聊他的日常，再进入机关重重的阿拉伯城堡和马斯喀特的国家博物馆……

老楊本身是有思考有底蘊的主播，有時候在幾期串台節目和其他友台的主播對話的時候更是突出這一點。比如有一次和「西夏酒館」的一個叫伊夏的主播串台（Vol 46｜讀書｜…）那一位來自「同一個中國」浙江的伊夏在那次節目中曾稱我們廣東人是一個連福建人都吃的「種族」……真的令人很無語，她可是一個號稱自己讀了500本以上的書的「文化人」呢……後來老楊不知道怎麼樣就把場子給圓了。那次之後我更喜歡老楊了，正所謂沒有對比就沒有傷害，沒有對比，也不知道哪一家電台更好。
