本期补上两块除宗教改革三大主流教派外的关键拼图：
一边是彻底激进的再洗礼派：从托马斯・莫尔的乌托邦构想，到托马斯・闵采尔点燃的平民革命，再到如今依旧坚守古朴生活的美国阿米什人，他们走出了一条反抗世俗、追求纯粹信仰的边缘道路，也是近代进行的第一次共产主义探索；
另一边是天主教的自我革新与反击：塔兰托大公会议重塑教会秩序，罗耀拉创立高度军事化的耶稣会，这群 “信仰军团” 远赴海外传教，更将中国文明带回欧洲，点燃启蒙时代的 “中国热”……
