  • Cuts through like nothing else.

I love this podcast so much. Episodes are not too long but pack an amazing amount in. And the content is next level. I’ve learned so much about why I’ve struggled to gain strength and skills. Spoiler alert, it’s due to poor programming not because I’m a female who “just doesn’t have the same upper body strength as a man”. So much knowledge - feeling it all “consolidate” as I listen 😂❤️

  • Love this show!

This pod is so good. Shimi really makes you understand why you feel like you’re plateauing in your training. She explains why women need to train differently to men, and how building baseline strength is going to get you arm balancing in no time. Definitely check out her gym, Bodyweight Brigade in Preston if you’re a fierce female living in Melbourne 💅

Q: What advice do you give to women who have just had a baby and want to get into bodyweight strength training?
First thing, get yourself a good coach. I would recommend Shimi or any of her coaches because they will know how to look after you and your postpartum body because it's different.

Just start. You can begin with the most simple of movements and just keep doing it because it is so good for you.
Ep 6: Gemma's relentless journey to bodyweight strength as a woman in her 40s
Q: Did you ever think you would stick to it this long?
No, I never thought I would stick to it this long, and I didn't think I'd ever be able to do a chin up.
