This was a very ambitious project undertaken by this production team but one that succeeded fantastically well. It managed to mix lighter moments with heavyweight themes and the personal histories of the people involved were the highlight. The presenters were great too, treating serious issues appropriately but having a laugh when it was warranted. Well done all.
Not bad as an overview of the history but ultimately it has a pretty clear unionist bias. The guy from the republic literally called himself an Anglophile snd it’s produced by the bbc so what can you expect, but still I have to say I cringed when the deaths of British horses got as much emotional coverage as those of nationalist people.
