本集請建中歷史莊德仁老師講述建中的校史與當時教育歷史脈絡，像是建中在日治時期的時候，從國語學校第四附屬學校，到後來的臺北州立臺北第一中學校(北一中)，再到戰後時期改成建國中學的整個過程，也解釋了為何其他縣市都是叫一中、二中，唯有台北市例外。

「不要一直用自己過去的經歷來說服小孩選哪條路比較好或是選哪條路非常不好，雖然出發點是好的，想讓小孩少走一點歪路，但你跟小孩子是完全不同的個體，興趣不同、能力不同、時空背景也不同，況且走哪條路不會遇到挫折的、不會走歪路的？就算選錯了有如何？一切都有轉圜的餘地。」
