Euro Trip - Great Britain - Laura Bailes
Q: What has the preparation been like for GB ahead of the Euros and the World Cup push?
preparation has focused on a mix of training groups, regular team camps, and leveraging data-driven insights, with a strong emphasis on mental conditioning and building team chemistry through shared experiences and structured routines.
2025 Nationals Rewind - Kira Kuwamoto (VIC)
Q: How did you manage changing positions and shifting from infield to outfield during Nationals, and what mindset changes helped you perform?
The change came with a mindset shift rather than a mechanical tweak; I stopped overthinking, trusted the training, and attacked each at-bat with confidence. This mental approach allowed me to adapt to different roles and perform at a high level.
2025 Nationals Rewind - Kira Kuwamoto (VIC)
Q: What was it like to be called up late to the Victoria team at Nationals, and how did you approach stepping in to help the team win?
I initially thought I was just there to help with numbers, but once I learned I would play, my mindset shifted completely toward contributing in any way possible, focusing on powerful hitting and solid defense to support the team and aiming for a memorable performance.
2025 Nationals Rewind - Kira Kuwamoto (VIC)
Q: Tell me about your story and the move from Japan to Australia and how you started playing baseball here.
I moved to Geelong about two years ago, played winter ball and summer ball with local clubs, and gradually found I could express my own playing style in Australia, which helped me enjoy the game more and contribute to my teams. The supportive club culture and exposure to diverse teammates helped me grow both as a player and as a person.
Euro Trip - Team Czechia - Katerina Petroušková
Q: What would winning gold at home mean for Czech baseball?
It would be a dream come true, elevate Czech women's baseball to the global map, and open future opportunities for younger players and players to compete abroad.
