阿英被帶走之後，進入了司法程序。這段期間阿英在羈押中等待。她的身體狀況在那段時間持續惡化，長期的憂鬱症、恐慌症、焦慮症，還有甲狀腺的問題，都沒有因為離開了那個家而好轉。
這是國民法官的初審，等待阿英的，是一場台灣從來沒有人走過的審判。

2022年11月底，一位六十三歲的婦人趁著丈夫酒醉熟睡，以菜刀、鐵鎚、水果刀，殺害枕邊人。行凶之後，她沒有逃，沒有試圖掩蓋，而是伴著屍體坐了將近一個小時，然後自己拿起電話，撥打了110。
這兩個人結婚將近四十年，而社會局一共接獲婦人十一次家暴通報，社工甚至在案發前幾天還跟這個婦人談過，問她最近還好嗎。她說，我很平安。然後那個夜裡，她就動手了。

聽完EP518這一集，我相信對很多人而言都是相當有意義的一集。
去年底剛成為一名新手媽媽，那種感覺更能感同身受，所以當主持人邠如開頭在念導讀的時候眼淚就開始不自覺得掉下來了
照顧了自己的孩子照顧了50幾年，從自己年輕照顧到自己年老，孩子身上甚至一點褥瘡都沒有，那是何等的用心，我相信在她親手送走自己的孩子的那個當下，她生命中的某一部分一定也跟著死去了
雖然安樂死這個議題要推動的前提須要多方考慮，但希望政府可以重視這一塊，社會底層仍然有太多的悲歌需要被幫助被看見，也謝謝我在案發現場這個團隊，你們真的很用心，希望貴節目可以長長久久一直做下去，因為我相信這也是另類對社會的一種貢獻
