I enjoy the show a lot, and the hosts are very good, but man sometimes they get deep down in that politically correct morass. Their very one-sided approach sometimes makes the show a little cringey.
Great
I watched the wire several years ago, not when it aired but shortly after. I’m one who thinks this is possibly the best show ever, and if not definitely in the top three. I’m really enjoying your coverage. It’s a great mix of someone who has obviously seen and loved the show for years and someone who is seeing it for the first time. You guys are doing a great job and I really appreciate it. You’re doing this amazing show justice. And that’s a significant achievement.
I’m on my first rewatch of this brilliant series, and this is a great companion podcast. Even though I’ve seen The Wire once before, it’s been a while so I appreciate that there are no spoilers whatsoever. Also, the hosts stay on topic, which is fantastic. Lastly, I love the soundbites sprinkled throughout the episodes. Definitely plan to keep listening!
Only a couple episodes in, but overall a great pod! Good balance between a newcomer and veteran of the wireverse. Keep up the great work!

Two regular hosts—one a first-time viewer and one a longtime rewatcher—dig into each episode of a storied Baltimore-set drama, offering a two-perspective breakdown that blends episode-by-episode recaps with broader social commentary. Across recent seasons, conversations often center on policing, media ethics, political power, and the human cost of institutional decisions, sprinkled with production notes, guest-less editorials, and moments of meta humor. The show tends to highlight moral complexity, storytelling craft, and real-world parallels, making it a strong pick for listeners who enjoy thoughtful analysis, ethical debates, and reaction-driven storytelling.
A standout feature is the dual-voiced format, which helps both newcomers and se... more
