我们都知道，留白在我们的中国画当中是一个很重要的技巧。这项技巧看似只是不画，只是空白，只是无为，但要想将留白留在正确的位置，或者表达出应有的意境，是一件很难的事情。在音乐的表达中，留白同样重要。爵士乐钢琴家 Ahmad Jamal 就是一个这方面的大师。这个出生于基督教家庭的非洲裔美国人，在改信了伊斯兰教之后，将自己的名字也改得极具穆斯林色彩，而他的音乐，也充满着极高的辨识度。
