  • The best whiskey podcast I’ve heard

I’ve listened to a few podcasts about whiskey and this one is by far the best. I’ve been listening to every episode since the beginning in 2005 and never get bored listening. Lots to learn and it’s like a living encyclopedia of whiskey and bourbon for those who have any interest at all. Excellent!!!

  • An extremely informative podcast

Updating my original review (below) as it is several years old… this continues to be a very informative and entertaining podcast. The format has remained the same. I especially appreciate that this podcast covers all types of whiskey news, topics, and tasting notes, so there is much to enjoy.

Each show covers many areas, yet is not rushed through. The interviews are very interesting. I continue to enjoy this podcast.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Sukhinder Singh's Worldview
Q: How does Portintruan factor into the broader strategy, and what makes island-based distillery work challenging?
Portintruan is complex due to logistics on Islay—labor, materials, and transport are harder to secure, but the island presents a unique opportunity to develop a distinct, high-quality visitor experience and product.
Sukhinder Singh's Worldview
Q: First of all, let's talk about the status of a couple of your projects. What's going on with Tormore?
We're nearly there; after a quiet period, we're launching Tormore in June with three expressions, focusing on preserving the distillery character while refining packaging and liquid.
250 Years of History in One Bourbon
Q: Tell me about the decision to sell to Gallo and what that meant for you guys.
They clarify that it was a partnership rather than a sale, providing needed distribution and brand-building leverage, enabling the expansion of the facility and the long-term vision for the brand while maintaining control over brand direction.
250 Years of History in One Bourbon
Q: Tell me about your 4th of July celebration because you're finally going to open up the distillery.
They describe a passionate launch plan around a large, community-centered 4th of July celebration with planned events like bull riding, concerts, and fireworks, signaling a major milestone for the distillery opening.
250 Years of History in One Bourbon
Q: Tell me about the new edition.
The hosts explain that the 250th edition was designed to be special and different from a simple patriotic packaging approach, incorporating design decisions led by Elizabeth and using a 13-star theme to echo the original colonies, with only 1,776 bottles produced.
