Where the Leaves Fall Purple is such a well-crafted mystery. I was unsure at first about the premise of ‘a true-crime podcast but not quite’, but the format fits this story perfectly. Reminds me of a high school project where the writer hired all their friends for the parts. As cliche AF.
I came into the show knowing that it's about a fake disappearance gone wrong, but that doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of the mystery on the table. New information is revealed in ways that don't feel cheap or contrived, and even when the characters annoy me it's because they are believably young adults trying to figure out life in college. Absolutely recommend for a great whodunnit that will keep you engaged and guessing.
