The best way for our global Northwestern University fan base to get the inside scoop and cogent analysis on our Wildcat teams all year round! #GONUWILDCATS
In a landscape of increasingly big market college sports podcasts that often give Northwestern a cursory glance on a good day, WLP is essential for honest, thorough analysis as a pairing with the trials and tribulations and JOY that comes with being in the NU orbit. They truly do the work, film study and research to provide well-informed analysis and opinions you truly cannot get anywhere else on NU sports. Can’t recommend highly enough.
In a world where only a very few places exist in our community that cover and discuss the team as fans, West Lot Pirates stands out as one of the few true homes for Cats fans during the week. WLP aren’t just a show, but a community including tailgates, events, and a general hub for Cats fans to come together. A true labor of love for the three hosts.
I’ve bled purple and white my whole life. I started listening to podcasts in general about two years ago. Knowing that the NU fan base is much smaller than many of our big ten peers, I thought it might be hard to find a podcast for my beloved wildcats. But then I found these guys. Let me tell you, these guys also bleed purple and white, maybe even more than I. They provide great analysis of all of our teams, not just football, and not just during football season. This is hands down one of my fav... more
This episode could have been interesting. They have an interesting guest who is knowledgeable about recruiting and NW football. The problem is a frequent one. One of the three hosts, John Lecomb, can’t shut up. He consistently talks over the guest who got to say very little. The audience if left to wonder: why have a guest? Just let Lecomb blabber, repeat himself, and declare how everything is “so funny”. I think he means so odd rather than funny and you’d think someone with a NW education would... more

A Northwestern-focused sports podcast that blends visceral takes with data-driven analysis across football, basketball, lacrosse, and more. Episodes frequently center on NU athletics culture, roster moves, recruiting, and big moments, anchored by in-depth game talks, interviews, and year-round coverage of the Big Ten landscape. Noteworthy is the consistent emphasis on lacrosse dominance, multi-sport analysis, and ongoing conversation about facilities, fundraising, and NIL, making it a go-to for dedicated Cats fans who want both thoughtful breakdowns and community-building events surrounding NU sports.
