  • Repetitive

The vocabulary of the primary critical reviewer is very limited. He repeats a lot of phrases in his conversation and his guest speakers sound fake. Like they fake laugh with him.

  • One of the podcasts of all time

So about five years ago I began looking for a dc comics podcast to listen to while I worked. I tried the first result, and it was just two manchildren praising every book out there without explaining why, so I quickly it down and did what I should have done from the start: ask reddit.

One result told me to check out Jim and Eric’s Weird Science DC comics podcast, so I did. What I found was another manchild and a screaming, motormouthed, borderline psychopathic lunatic screaming their brutally h... more

  • A great DC podcast.

Jim and Eric always provide a great experience covering DC Comics. They consistently add humor to each discussion which heightens the podcast. I always enjoy their honesty as well. They call out the comics that are of poor quality but also are quick to praise the books that are good. A great comics podcast.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

DC Comics Ep 604: Superboy Prime is a D*ck, Kyle Rayner is White Again, Heroin Cheat Day & More
Q: Why do you think DC Comics is so against putting out second Justice League books?
The hosts speculate that DC Comics may view existing titles like Justice League United as sufficient and may not see a market for a B-tier hero book. They express a desire for more focused stories around characters like Green Arrow, Firestorm, and Zatanna that could explore team dynamics more deeply.
Absolute Flash #4 Review / Absolute DC Comics Ep 28
Q: Is it worth the $4.99?
It's tough. I like it, but I don't think it justifies the price due to the lack of substantial content.
DC Comics Ep 578: Batman Hates Prisons, Silver Banshee Hates Lois & Jim Hates Fun
Q: What notable changes are you planning for the podcast in light of Eric's departure?
The host mentions potentially changing the format to include more guest hosts and discussions while maintaining the core element of reviewing comics.
DC Comics Ep 550: Absolute Power, Action Comics, Gotham by Gaslight, Jason Todd Lives & More
Q: What is the significance of the lasso?
The lasso signifies truth and accountability for Wonder Woman, allowing her to convey honesty and fortitude to the centipede creature she battles.
DC Comics Ep 550: Absolute Power, Action Comics, Gotham by Gaslight, Jason Todd Lives & More
Q: Why does Bruce expose Jason to this life?
It's a complex situation; Bruce grapples with his decisions as a parent and mentor, realizing that exposing Jason to danger, while protective, could ultimately endanger him.
