Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

E39: Gian Luca Nani
Q: What's the approach to building the squad and filling positions?
The plan is to have patience, build the right team with a strong mentality, and fill positions with players who fit the club's style, using a world-wide scouting network and keeping ahead of market dynamics to secure the right talent.
E39: Gian Luca Nani
Q: Can you describe Alessio Dionisi's fit for Watford and what you're looking for in a coach?
Dionisi is an offensive coach who prioritizes attacking football, game dominance, and a strong coaching staff, with a focus on building the right mentality, training approach, and long-term project rather than rigid systems.
E36: World Cup Special: Egil Selvik
Q: Have you got memories of watching the World Cup as a lad growing up?
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. The first I properly remember is probably in 2006, the one in Germany. It's a massive event. When you see it on TV and talk with the other players who have experienced it before, they say it's just an amazing experience.
E36: World Cup Special: Egil Selvik
Q: You were a year old the last time Norway played at a World Cup. Did you ever think you'd get to experience it as a player?
Yeah, of course, the ambition is always there, but Norway's been stuck in the rut for multiple years. And I've been with the national team for a couple of years now, and I've both seen the deepest lows and the highest highs in terms of football-wise.
E36: World Cup Special: Egil Selvik
Q: So firstly, Egil, congratulations on your selection for Norway's World Cup 2026 Squads. It's been 28 years since Norway last qualified for the World Cup.
Very proud. It's a historic event for Norway as a football nation, and also for the people in Norway to be a part of this World Cup.
